SSBN-826 Commanding Officer Visits the Capitol Chapter of the Naval Submarine League
Captain Heath Johnmeyer, Commanding Officer PCU District of Columbia, spoke to the Capitol Chapter of the Naval Submarine League (NSL) on 17 June, continuing his Community Engagement with the people of the District, SSBN-826's Namesake. CAPT Johnmeyer updated the attendees about the construction progress, platform capability and crew training.
Captain Johnmeyer attended the event at the invitation of the Naval Submarine League Capitol Chapter President -- and USS District of Columbia Commissioning Committee member -- Captain John Newton, USN (Ret.).
The Naval Submarine League was founded in 1982 to provide the Submarine Force with charitable, educational and scientific support. With over 4,000 members, the Naval Submarine League seeks opportunities to stimulate and promote awareness, by all elements of American society, of the need for a strong undersea arm of the U.S. Navy.
We are excited to partner with the Naval Submarine League to support the historic commissioning of the USS District of Columbia (SSBN-826).
